Juan Caro and Fabio Sasso, known as Leitmotiv, offer fashion ideas for those who love color and prints, for men and women with eclectic personalities who don’t get bored, who have intense lifestyles and are not looking for a wardrobe filled with shades of gray but with a rainbow of chromatic variations. Their extrovert personalities have made them very popular but it is their fashion ideas, the result of a creativity that has its epicenter in Bologna but is not bound by geographical borders, that have received significant acclaim, including a Special Mention by the June 2009 “Who’s on next?” Jury. We meet them for some teasers about their menswear proposals for future seasons.
Can you briefly describe your s/s 2013 collection.
The “Dream Day” concept was born from our passion for artists linked to the beat generation and the legendary trips along Route 66. This led to the realization of a 2013 Men’s Collection which is perfect for anyone who loves a hectic lifestyle. The prints are inspired by Hockney’s visual stories, tales of journeys with no destination led by dreams of freedom blended with hints of majolica and unreal landscapes.
What are the must-have items in the collection?
The printed nylon jacket is the must-have item of this collection. Super practical, you can pull it out when you need it and the printed mood makes it original and unique.
In one word, what will the F/W 2013-14 season be like?
Love is in the air, we can say no more!
Any special memories linked to Pitti?
The best moments were dreaming as we watched the catwalk shows - before becoming Leitmotiv - or the great emotion we felt when we became participants ourselves. Pitti Immagine Uomo is one of the most important fairs in Italy and always features an exceptional audience - we feel truly honored to be part of this event.
