For the past several seasons, the Fondazione Pitti Discovery has been turning the spotlights on the new stars on the international creative and economic scene with the aim of promoting exchange and mutual awareness.
In cooperation with KOCCA - Korea Creative Content Agency – the Guest Nation at this edition of Pitti Uomo is South Korea, which is becoming one of the most interesting players in fashion research today. This project is also a celebration of 130 years of trade relations between Italy and Korea.
The Polveriera at the Fortezza da Basso is the dedicated area hosting the collections by a select group of South Korean labels doing fantastic work in menswear: Beyond Closet, Byungmun Seo, J Koo, Münn, Ordinary People, Resurrection and Roliat, plus other South Korean brands that, with the support of KOCCA, are showing their collections in other sections at Pitti Uomo: Bastong, Westage and Ze-Quun.
Plus, at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday 18 June, the Polveriera will be the setting for an amazing party, featuring hip-hop, rock, and electronic music performed by South Korean bands that are enjoying huge successes on the independent music scene.
