Contests Contest 2014Fashion / Design / Graphics / Photography / Performance
In cooperation with Altaroma and L’Uomo Vogue, Pitti Immagine will proudly present the sixth edition of WHO IS ON NEXT? UOMO, the competition that seeks out new, Italian or Italy-based, talents in men’s fashion design.
During Pitti Uomo, an international panel of top buyers, fashion journalists and opinion makers will be called upon to judge the collections presented by the 6 finalists and to announce the winners. The finalists are Jimi Roos, Maison Lvchino, Studiopretzel, and T.Lipop for prêt-à-porter; and Alberto Premi Design and MOBI in the accessories category.
Their collections will be shown to the Pitti Uomo audience in a very technical display situated in the heart of the fair (Lower Level, Main Pavilion). The setting, designed by architect Alessandro Moradei, is conceived to show the collections to the best.
“WHO IS ON NEXT? UOMO is truly the lead project in promoting new talents in men’s fashions”, says Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine. “It is a launch pad that goes straight to the international scene, to acquaint the press and top buyers with their styles and creative talents, and to open new horizons for their careers as fashion designers…exactly what happened for the winners of the first five editions”.
And Pitti Immagine is confirming its important partnership with YOOX.COM: the world’s leading multi-brand lifestyle e-store for fashion, design and art, will offer the winner of WION Uomo 2014 a unique opportunity to present and develop their brand. The winner will have access to a wide international audience thanks to the store’s global e-commerce site yoox.com, present in over 100 countries worldwide.
The partnership with TOMORROW LONDON LIMITED, one of the most important international platforms for distribution new fashion talents, is also moving forward. Tomorrow London Limited will offer the winners the opportunity to present their collections during the sales campaign in their Paris showroom.
And there is something more - and totally new - this year: FASHION VALLEY, the purpose-designed platform created by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with the cooperation of the Prato Chamber of Commerce that unites the fashion companies (from yarn and fabric production to the finished garment) in the Prato district, will provide additional support for our projects.
