June 2016 will mark the eighth edition of WHO IS ON NEXT? UOMO (*), the scouting project produced by Fondazione Pitti Immagine Discovery, and sponsored by Pitti Immagine Uomo in cooperation with Altaroma and L’Uomo Vogue that seeks out new Italian or that produce in Italy talents in men’s fashions.
As customary, the finalists’ collection are judged by an international panel of top buyers, fashion journalists and opinion makers.
The finalists of the eighth edition are: Carlo Volpi, Traiano and Tropiano, for prêt-à-porter; and Alan Buanne, Ilariusss and Solovière for the accessories category.
The finalists’ collections will be presented to the Pitti Uomo audience in a special area on the Lower Level of the Main Pavilion in a very technical display setting designed to enhance their creativity.
The winner will be announced on Tuesday, 14 June, during the Pitti Immagine Uomo 90 opening ceremony in Palazzo Vecchio.
“WHO IS ON NEXT? UOMO is truly the leading project when it comes to promoting new talents in men’s fashions”, says Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine. “This competition offers a springboard onto the international stage, so that they can acquaint the press and top buyers with their style and creative talents. WHO IS ON NEXT? UOMO will open new doors in their fashion design careers – just as it has done for all the winners of the previous editions”.
WHO’S ON NEXT? UOMO is part of the “Special Program for the 2016 Pitti Immagine Fairs” sponsored by the Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana and produced thanks to a special grant from MiSE (Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico – Ministry for Economic Development) and Agenzia ICE (Italian Trade Agency) in support of Italian trade fairs and Made in Italy.
