“Peripatetic” is perhaps the most apt adjective to describe Hans Ulrich Obrist (Zurich 1968), the international curator who directs the Programme Migrateurs at the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, and a tireless traveler.
This Wanderlust has taken him around the world, encountering not only places but also people, talking with everyone and interviewing anyone who stimulates his interest along the way: artists, scientists, writers, curators, composers, musicians, architects, philosophers….. Since 1993 Hans Ulrich Obrist has conducted over 400 interviews. A sort of infinite conversation that becomes an artform in its own right. The book Interviews Volume I, containing one thousand pages and published in two editions – Italian and English – contains 66 interviews, offering an extraordinary cross-section of contemporary thought and action.
