Fashion / Design / Performance An original performance by Olivier Saillard with Tilda Swinton

After his extraordinary achievement at Vestirsi da Uomo 2011,” Mr. Cianchi , “we are very proud to work with Olivier Saillard again. The director of the Palais Galliera, Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris, Saillard is not just a brilliant and cultured fashion critic and historian - he is also the author/actor of successful performances inspired by the world of fashion. Here, in Florence, during Pitti Uomo, he will present a refined new performance centered on the garment, starring the outstanding Tilda Swinton. It will be a real lighthearted, ironic and chic show.”

The Cloakroom is where coats and jackets are checked at the entrance to theaters, museums and other public places…it is where we can still find the type of attention that belongs to that fading tradition of hospitality.

Olivier Saillard and Tilda Swinton will be the charming host and hostess who ask each visitor-spectator to select and leave an item in “their” cloakroom. Once they have been collected, coats, jackets, scarves and bags of all sizes and type will become the co-stars of an extraordinary performance by Ms. Swinton who will embody their innermost spirit.

The projects of FONDAZIONE PITTI DISCOVERY are produced thanks to grants from theCENTRO DI FIRENZE PER LA MODA ITALIANA e diPITTI IMMAGINE and to the important contribution of ENTE CASSA DI RISPARMIO DI FIRENZE.
