Continuing with its mission to support internationally promising names in Italian fashion design, Fondazione Pitti Immagine Discovery is presenting ALANUI as the Pitti Uomo 92 Special Event.
“It’s a contemporary, cutting-edge style that immediately attracted our attention because it combines the excellence of Italian yarns with cosmopolitan inspiration”, says Lapo Cianchi Pitti Immagine Director of Communications and Events and the man in charge of the Fondazione Pitti Immagine Discovery. “That is why we were so happy to invite Alanui, the young brand founded by the brother-and-sister team of Nicolò and Carlotta Oddi, to present their fine, ethno-chic single-product to Pitti Uomo’s outstanding audience”.
This premiere showing at Pitti Uomo is an important milestone for Alanui. The nomad-chic project launched by Nicolò and Carlotta Oddi springs from an around-the-world trip – and also from paths taken every day. Alanui will stage a special event on Thursday morning, 15 June at the Tepidarium del Roster.
Alanui was founded in 2016 by Nicolò Oddi – an entrepreneur from Monza (Italy) and his sister, Carlotta – one of today’s leading fashion stylists. The Hawaiian word means “large path” and refers to the journey that broadens your horizons. An elite nomadic mood typified by a cardigan with soft lines. Deliberately unisex and oversized, and made of fine 980 gram Cariaggi cashmere in a variety of colors and patterns, it’s an item for all seasons. The ethnically inspired jacquard requires five hours of knitting and another six for assembly so that each sweater is a one-of-a-kind item. The Native American reference comes across clearly in the colors and fringes.
