Here we are with a few questions for Jimi Roos, the Swedish finalist of Who’s on Next 2014 at Pitti Uomo 86 with his eponymous brand.
1. What did you think when you entered the competition, did you expect to be one of the finalists?
We didn’t expect it, but it would be useless to deny that we really believe in our project, which is confirmed by the quality of the buyers and stores worldwide that have chosen us since our first season.
2. Can you tell us a bit about your collection?
Its inspiration springs from the streets of London, the punk vibe of the new SS15 is typically British. Having started out making embroidered t-shirts, we continued along our pathway by presenting sweatshirts last season (FW14) and offering the embroidered shirt as the main novelty of the new collection, reinterpreting the classic cut in our own way, by playing around with thread.
3. What plans/dreams do you have for the future?
Our plan is to achieve a men’s/women’s total look in the coming two years, expanding the collection every season with an article designed and made entirely in Italy. Keeping production in our country by developing partnerships with traditional artisans to make jimi roos a quality brand that is identified with Italian manufacturing.
