A return trip from Tuscany to Asia. The Emiliano Rinaldi collection was showcased during the 84th edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo, taking us to far away and exotic lands.
We're catapulted from Florence into a dream of Chinese parasols and Buddhist sculptures. The inspiration came from a friend of Rinaldi's, Max, an eclectic and cosmopolitan traveler, who is curious and open to the pleasures of the senses. Clothes materialise into a combination of two worlds, blending great cultures that are laden with history. Green Tuscan undergrowth combined with Oriental silks, cotton outfits with peacock feather prints. Florentine balance and symmetry fused with the opulently decorated Asian style, the reds and blues of early Renaissance artists Piero della Francesca and Giotto combined with mandarin collars and elegant turbans. A fascinating cultural hybrid, breaking through barriers with a single aim: the quest for pleasure and beauty.
