Project room Myownbooks By Erik Bjerkesjo

Fashion / Music / Design / Graphics Telling with books A personal journey into the libraries of the creative
We asked Erik Bjerkesjö - Swedish young fashion designer, winner of the last edition of Who is on Next - to take some photos from his personal library and answer a few questions.

Which are your favourite books?
I love penguin books, and A magazine (which is not a book..), so I collect them, and I am now in Stockholm and not in my studio, so I have only pictures of my collection of Penguin books not A magazine…
Which is the first book you ever read and love?
J.D. Salinger - The Catcher in the Rye. I don't remember when the first time it was I read it, but it was in a long period of time when I was around 12 to 13 of age, and to this day I really like this book and I read it more then once a year.
Books are inspiring you someways?
Ernest Hemingway - Old man and the sea & F. Scott Fitzgerald - The Great Gatsby. I felt hit and moved by the words when I first read theese books, and I stil do. I like to read about existentialism, If consider existentialism as a philosophy that insists on leaving the search for meaning with the individual.
Do you love more digital book or do you still look for old vintage book?
Both, I also love reading A Magazine and books about designers for example Hussein Chalayan's book was amazing. I would probably not read them digital. I like the feeling of holding a good book in my hand. Digital books I read if I forget to pack my own books when I travel. But I prefer vintage books I would say.
